Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.
The business lists hours on 1 day of the week. The most common schedule is 9 AMβ5:30 PM. It is closed on Sunday. Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TRASH LADY WAS RUDE OVER THE PHONE BECAUSE I ASKED IF THE CRABS WERE MALE OR FEMALE

I placed an order for 150 pieces of whiting 30 minutes before closing for the next day, the fish was ready by 11am plus I got extras. This lady is a true hustler and I appreciate the great service. She may come off as not as friendly at times however this woman is tired after cleaning fresh fish all day and her fingers are cramped. I've learned to overlook that and just smile, because when I tell you, every time I need a large order of fresh fish or a last minute bushel of fresh crabs for a party, this woman shows up!

Iβve never seen fresher seafood in my life. My entire life. Iβm a transplant to philly from York, Pa and the fish/shrimp look as if they just crawled out of the ocean vs. what I used to see there. Prices could be lower. But the quality looks top notch. Plus the woman behind the counter was friendly. Donβt be fooled by the storeβs rough exterior. Itβs a neighborhood gem.
